Elaine Joy was referred by the DepEd School Division Office to KBF – Holt International for educational assistance services. Upon admission, Elaine was found to be in good health and had never been hospitalized. Elaine Joy lives in an extended family. The sole provider of the family is Elaine Joy's father, who works as a construction worker and earns a minimum wage. Her mother is a full-time homemaker. Elaine is the youngest among her three siblings. Her three younger sisters are not yet in school. Her grandparents have maintenance medicine, which is a big part of the family's income. Elaine's father's income is not enough to cover all the family expenses.
